New York, NY (June 3, 2011)—The Gilder Lehrman Institute has announced fifty teachers as recipients of the 2011 State History Teachers of the Year. The award is co-sponsored by the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History, Preserve America, and HISTORY™ and recognizes outstanding teachers of American history across the country. Each teacher will receive an award of $1,000 at a local ceremony, and an archive of books and other resources presented in their honor to their school.
