Eisenhower replies to a letter from Strauss written on the same page. Strauss informs that despite headlines about the atomic powered submarines, there was no security breach. States that the news came from a report made to Congress by Strauss' predecessor on 30 June 1953. Eisenhower replies, "The only question is: was the report, in this particular, wise and necessary?" On White House stationary.
Strauss was chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission, 1953–1958.
