Our Collection

At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Thanks Blenko for a vase he gave him at the Governors' Conference in White Sulphur Springs. Signed as Governor of California. Addressed to Blenko at the Blenko Glass Company in Milton, West Virginia. A typed note with biographical information on Warren is pasted to the bottom of the letter.

Warren served as Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court 1953-1969.
