William writes with an update on Robert's schooling. Firstly, William requests that Robert write to him, as William had received no letter from his brother other than that which accompanied Robert to Scotland. William proceeds to discuss the matter of Robert's schooling, including his being placed with a schoolmaster at Leith. William reiterates the need for new articles of clothing for young Robert, as his clothes and trunk were consumed in the fire William previously wrote of. William tells Robert the story of the messenger of the letter, David Viliant, and requests that he be offered employment. Finally, William includes an itemized bill tallying all the purchases made of clothing and supplies for young Robert. Docketed on address leaf.
