Our Collection

At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

They are currently under General McArthur and he is very good. There are 20,000 troops there. Their tents are too small but the General has promised larger ones. He wants the son of a mutual friend to stay with her in the summer. Their friend Bill is about 8 miles from him.
