Autograph letter signed
Title: to Robert Livingston, Jr. re: men to chop wood on the Manor
John Van Buren asks Robert, Jr. if he would like George Cantlin, a somewhat careless and irresponsible worker, to chop wood on the Manor in the winter. He also states that there are 3 additional men interested in the position, but they seem of such questionable character that there would be fear of them running away with their axes. Docketed on verso. Written at the Manor of Livingston.
