William Bradford (1590–1657) was a signer of the Mayflower Compact and a leader of the group of Separatists known as Pilgrims who settled Plymouth Colony. He served as governor for more than thirty years, and his most famous written work was Of Plymouth Plantation, which documented the founding and early history of Plymouth.
